PROVO / HEBER CITY - A Mountain of a Good Time
Culture and adventure at every turn! Within an hour's drive you'll find skiing, world-famous museums, an historic railroad and vast formal gardens. America's Freedom Festival - Provo is host to one of America's most spectacular annual Fourth of July celebrations. Weeks of activities include sporting tournaments, art exhibits, contests and concerts culminating with a giant parade and the Stadium of Fire fireworks display at LaVell Edwards Stadium on the Brigham Young University campus. Thanksgiving Point - Utah's destination of discovery. Thanksgiving Point consists of the Thanksgiving Gardens - 55 acres showcasing the beauty of nature; Children's Discovery Garden - discover nature with interactive adventure; North American Museum of Ancient Life - dinosaur museum and natural history gallery; Thanksgiving Point Golf Course - 7,728-yard 18-hole Johnny Miller-designed course; and a quaint village for dining and shopping. Timpanogos Cave National Monument - Explore the beauty of three natural limestone caverns connected by man-made tunnels. The Peaks Ice Arena and Seven Peaks Water Park - Venue for Ice Hockey events during the Olympic Winter Games of 2002. During the summer months, visitors can enjoy Utah's largest water park with 26 heated water attractions. Provo Canyon National Scenic Byway - The byway parallels the Provo River between Provo and Heber City Utah. Bridal Veil Falls, a double cataract waterfall, and Deer Creek Reservoir State Park are spectacular points of interest in the canyon. Sundance Village - Robert Redford's 6,000-acre retreat up Provo Canyon features skiing, dining, summer theatre, hiking, fishing, art workshops, and concerts. Guests can stay overnight at Sundance. Sundance Film Festival held each year in January The Homestead - Located in the Heber Valley, the Homestead's landmark hot springs crater was the main attraction over 116 years ago. Today the Homestead Resort features a spectacular setting with a wide array of activities, amenities, conference space and accommodations for vacationers and groups. The Homestead is a four-season resort with a wealth of activities ranging from scuba diving in the crater, playing golf on the 18-hole championship golf course, or taking a guided trip through the backcountry on a snowmobile. Soldier Hollow - Soldier Hollow in Wasatch Mountain State Park is the venue for the Cross-Country Skiing, Nordic Combined, and Biathlon events in 2002. The facility features 23 kilometers of trails that can be used in both winter and summer. Heber Valley Historic Railroad - This authentic 100-year-old scenic railroad features a pair of 1907 steam locomotives and a variety of vintage passenger cars. Day trips take passengers along the shores of Deer Creek Reservoir and through Provo Canyon. The railroad will transport spectators to the Soldier Hollow venue during the 2002 Olympic Winter Games.

Simon's Restaurant at the Homestead Resort - Simon's Restaurant offers unexpected taste delights and excellent cuisine in a warm and inviting atmosphere - in Midway. Dairy Keen - This local "burger joint" has a model train that travels overhead through hand painted murals of the beautiful Heber Valley. Kids love it! - in Heber.
